The Oxford and Cambridge Society Netherlands would like to invite you to an unforgettable culinary journey to Mauritius, hosted by the owner of Ti Dodo Epicé, in collaboration with independent cheese & wine shop Le Cockelon.
This will be an immersive Mauritian Culinary Workshop, bringing the colours, aromas, and generosity of Mauritian home cooking to Koog aan de Zaan through hands-on activities, shared dining, and curated wine pairings. Through this delicious and interactive 3-course lunch we will together discover the cuisine of Mauritius.
Menu (each dish is paired with a Ti Dodo Epicé sauce and a glass of wine)
Arrival Snacks with fresh chatini (chatini prepared live with attendees)
– Gato pima (vegetarian)
– Gato bringel (vegetarian)
– Gato pomme de terre (vegetarian)
Prawn Cocktail with Mauritian Cocktail sauce (attendees prepare the Mauritian cocktail sauce)
(Contains seafood)
Main Course (attendees prepare fresh Roti)
– Chicken curry (non-vegetarian)
– Butterbean curry with potatoes (vegetarian)
– Rougaille (vegetarian)
– Achard légume (vegetarian)
Dessert (attendees prepare the filling for the Puits d’Amour)
– Puits d’Amour (non-vegetarian due to dairy/egg filling)
– Coco piké (vegetarian)
– Digestif: Ti Dodo rum arrangé (2 flavours)
Attendees will leave with recipe cards for each dish.
The shop will remain open at the end of the event for attendees to browse and make purchases.
What is not included?
- Aprons (participants are encouraged to bring their own, since there are flour-based activities).
- Any additional drinks outside the 3 wine pairings.
- Transport to/from the venue (participants are encouraged to come by train, the venue is 7 minutes walk from Koog aan de Zaan station).
Dietary Notes
- Vegetarian: All dishes except Chicken Curry and Puits d’Amour (dairy/egg)
- Allergens: Seafood (prawn cocktail), dairy, eggs, gluten
- Please advise of any allergies when booking.
The event will start promptly at 12pm.
For the best possible experience the event is capped at 15 attendees and booking closes on 13th October. Hence, early booking is recommended! Cancellations with a refund are only possible up to 13th October. After this date ticket swaps only may be possible.
