February 2020: Candlemas

Join us for an afternoon of music and poetry, readings and other contributions from our own members. This year we will be deviating from the usual evening format and holding it on a Sunday afternoon instead. Guests will be welcomed with coffee, tea or glühwein in Emile van Leenen’s piano workshop. During the interval we will serve a substantial tea and drinks.

Please let us know if you would like to contribute an item such as a piece of music (there is a grand piano in the room), a short talk or something else. All contributions are welcome but you are also free just to come and enjoy the afternoon!

Date: Sunday, Feb. 9th, starting at 2:30 pm
Place: “Emilie van Leenen Piano’s”, Lammermark 59, 2312 CM, Leiden
Price: €15

October 2019: Annual Dinner in Amsterdam

The Oxford and Cambridge Society of The Netherlands warmly invites you to our annual dinner at the Koninklijke Industrieele Groote Club (IGC). The exclusive IGC is beautifully situated on the famous Dam Square. Please join us for a pre-dinner drink followed by a delicious three-course meal, including drinks. We will be dining in the flagship ‘Damzaal’, which as the name suggests, overlooks Amsterdam’s famous square.

We are proud and delighted to announce that this year’s guest of honour comes from our midst. An Oxford alumna, a former undercover spy, an esteemed member of our Society… Rachel van der Wilden MBE (Lady Margaret Hall 1944-47) will take us on a trip down Memory Lane, as part of an after-dinner interview and conversation with our Society Secretary.

Black tie preferred.

Date: Sat, 26 October 2019; 18:30 – 22:00 CEST
Place: Koninklijke Industrieele Groote Club, Dam 27, 1012 JS Amsterdam
Price: €85 for members and guests.
