The Oxford and Cambridge Society of the Netherlands invites its members and their guests to a special culinary event:

The society would like to invite you to an unforgettable culinary journey through the various regions of Italy with our Taste of Italy dinner in Amsterdam with hosts Micaela, who is a host with social dining platform Tasty Talks Tasty Talks.

Through this delicious 3-course dinner we hope to together discover the food from different regions of Italy, going beyond the regular pizzas and pastas. Members may bring up to two guests.

Tickets are limited, given venue capacity and booking closes a week in advance of the event. Hence, early booking is recommended! Cancellations with a refund are only possibly up to a week in advance. Past this date only possible ticket swaps may be possible.

You are invited to a weekend full of events in Brussels, Belgium by:

We would like to invite all alumni and their guests to join us for this weekend full of events, bringing together society members from the Netherlands and Belgium. There will be various events held throughout Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with members having the opportunity to join individual events / days or the whole weekend. The highlight of the weekend will be our dinner on Saturday evening.

This is an deal opportunity for members of Oxbridge NL and the alumni of Cambridge and Oxford in Belgium to meet, explore and have fun in Brussels together.

This is a joint event organised by Oxford and Cambridge Alumni societies in Belgium and the Oxford and Cambridge Society of the Netherlands. This is the provisional description of events and small changes to the event schedule are possible over the next few weeks (all updates will be communicated to attendees where relevant).

Public transport Netherlands – Brussels: There is a direct IC connection from Amsterdam CS to Brussels Centraal /Central Station/ Gare Centrale (duration 2h43) running several times a day into the late evening, bookable via NS International. There are also bus options.

Accomodation: For Dutch OxCam visitors, there are plenty of Hotel or AirBnb options available. A few spaces are open to stay at a local Society Member’s home (free of charge) – please send an email to secretary.ocnl@gmail.com if you are interested and we will try to match you, based on availability.

The Oxbridge and Harvard societies would like to invite you, your family, supporters and guests to an afternoon of rowing at the Willem III Rowing Club in Amsterdam. Both boats will also raise funds for charity in advance of the event.

Join us for this first-of-its-kind rowing race in the Netherlands: Alumni of Harvard vs. Oxford/Cambridge. Whether you plan to join one of the boats as a rower/cox or attend as a supporter – you will not want to miss this one! Spectators are welcome to use Willem III facilities and procure refreshments from the card-only bar throughout the event.

Charity Fundraiser

In addition, both societies would like to take this event as an opportunity to raise funds for their respective chosen charities. Donations can be made up until the event day on our eventbrite page (simply choose donation at the ticket checkout), for the teams as follows:

• Harvard – The Dutch Refugees Fund for Universities (UAF): The UAF has been providing support to refugee students and professionals in their studies and in finding suitable employment on the Dutch labour market since 1948.
• Oxford/Cambridge – Alzheimer Nederland: Alzheimer Nederland enables research into the causes of dementia and prevention, cure, diagnostics and treatment of dementia. People dealing with dementia and their families can also contact their Alzheimer telephone, their forum or visit their 250 Alzheimer Cafés across the country.

Ticket Types

General Admission. Whether you come to cheer on the Harvard or Oxbridge boats – alumni are encouraged to bring friends and family to this event. Aside from viewing the races and socializing with other alumni and guests, there will be the opportunity to participate in the erg rowing competition.

Rowers & Coxes. All alumni with some rowing experience either recent or in the long distant past are welcome to participate. NB: The races are planned to take place using mixed crews on C4+ boats. A C4+ is a coxed stern-loaded sweeping boat for 4 rowers.

Volunteer Ticket. To make this event happen, we’re looking for volunteers. On top of helping the societies run the event, you get a 50% discount on your ticket. Please choose the role that you’d like to fill at the moment of purchasing a ticket. You will be contacted after sign-up. The roles are as follows:

• Social Media – help taking pictures throughout the event (whole event)
• Erg supervisor – supervise the ergs during the erg competition (1hr)
• Bartender – help out behind the bard during the event (1 hr)
