Sunday, July 2nd 2023 – The Annual Summer BBQ

Date: Sunday, July 2
Time: 4-7pm
Place: Den Haag, Vogelwijk
Price: €12 members, €16 guests of members; Children under 10 free

This year’s BBQ is hosted by our newly appointed president Nick. A perfect opportunity to meet old friends, other alumni and get to know this year’s committee members. The starting time and beach proximity give ample opportunity to enjoy the beach prior to the BBQ. What a great way to enjoy a lovely summer day!

This is a family-friendly event, so please bring friends, partners and/or children.

Given this year’s location, there will unfortunately not be enough space for outdoor games onsite. However, with the beach in close proximity, there will be ample opportunity to enjoy the weather outside.

There will be a selection of meat, fish, vegetarian and vegan options together with home-made salads and desserts. Please feel free to bring something yourself to add to the buffet.

The venue allows for a maximum of 50 guests.

Please register before Monday, 26th of June (checkout below or via this link), stating the number of adults and children attending and any dietary requirements. For further questions feel free to contact us via secretary.ocnl@gmail.com.

See you there! The Committee

Saturday, 24th June 2023 – Summer Cycle in Amsterdam

Join us for this casual and relaxed event, exploring some of Amterdam’s favorite spots by bike.

Meeting point: Amsterdam Centraal Station, 2pm 24th June (Saturday)

This event will be led Xuan. It is free for members of the society and their guest.

Experience Amsterdam like a local with our Summer Cycle event! Join us for a laid-back cycling tour in Amsterdam through the city’s top sights as well as its hidden gems. We will zip easily between landmarks and ride along picturesque canals and stunning architecture. Some of the must-sees include the vibrant neighbourhoods in Jordaan, small city farmhouses, the Homomonument, Vondelpark, and the Bos. Occasionally, we will stop for picnics to regain energy.

We aim to finish by 6pm. After that, for those who are interested, of course, we go for a pint (alcohol or non-alcohol).

This event is open to members, and members can bring a plus one. For those who have bikes, please bring your bike along. For those who don’t come with a bike, Amsterdam Centraal Fietsenstalling rents out OV-Fiets (pay by OV card), but those OV bikes only have foot pedal brakes, no handbrakes. There is also a commercial bike renting place nearby for those who need to rent bikes that feature handbrakes.

Note: this event is subject to weather condition. If treacherous weather (e.g., persistent torrential rain) is forecasted on the day, we will cancel the event.
