Join us for a walk across the border in Wallonia (Belgium). This 9.5 km loop hike near Liège will take about 2.5 to 3 hrs and is a great opportunity for a short get-away to nature – ideal for a spontaneous overnight stay or day trip down. Being close to Liege, it offers easy access by public transport.

Moderate fitness is required, but pace will be adjusted to the group. Good footwear, raincoat and packed lunch are essential (as always on our hikes, we will take several stops to enjoy lunch and chat). The walk also offers the opportunity to mingle with Oxbridge Alumni from Belgium.

Alumni are encouraged to bring along friends and family to the walk. As always, our walks are free and if the opportunity arises at the end, we will also sit down in a café or pub (First drink courtesy the society for Oxbridge NL members and their guests).

  • If joining by public transport, a group is travelling from Brussels Centraal (1h train ride, then a few bus stops to the starting point). Meet at Brussels Centraal at 10.45am (train leaves sharp at 11am). Note that you have to arrange your own train/bus tickets. 
  • If going directly by car, meet at the meeting point below (about 2.5 hrs from Utrecht, from Brussels 1.5 hrs)

The Committee of the Oxbridge Society NL is excited to invite you to the Watch Party of The Boat Race 2025 at Ode aan de Amstel, a restaurant-café, quite literally, on the Amstel. 

The event will kick off with a two-course brunch along with bread and scones, setting the stage for the women’s boat race. Following this, we’ll hold the Annual General Meeting (AGM), ensuring it concludes in time for everyone to enjoy the men’s boat race.

Savoury:

• Egg benedict with
  • crab or
  • spinach (vegetarian)
  • ham
• Brioche bread with homemade shrimp croquette
• Golden beet & orange salad (Vegan)
• Avocado smash & chickpeas on a sourdough (Vegan)

Sweet (all vegetarian):

• Banana cake with peanut praline
• Canelé with pistachio ganache
• French toast with white chocolate and raspberry sorbet
• Red beetroot and dark chocolate (Vegan)

The brunch includes mineral water + coffee/tea. Other drinks must be paid by attendees individually at the end. 

Ticket price:  45 EUR – Member | 50 EUR – Guest or First-time attendee (non-Member)

Booking deadline & cancellation policy. The last day for obtaining tickets is 10th April. Please note that ticket cancellation is only possible until 28th March for a refund. Tickets may well be cancelled after, however, there will be no refund. We will operate a waitlist, so these types of cancellations may be refunded if a suitable replacement is found.

The Oxford and Cambridge Society of the Netherlands would humbly invite members and guests to our first culinary event of 2025. We will take a journey through the mountains of Alps as we transition into Spring, enjoying some heart warming food in a cosy setting.

Through this delicious 3-course dinner we hope to together discover Alpine Cuisine. You also have an opportunity to get your own personalized fondue fork to keep a memento of this amazing experience. 

Entrée: Selection of Starters to share, charcuterie/ cheese/ pate/ bread and butter*
Plat: Cheese Fondue and Salad*
Desert: Selection of mini deserts*

*Please share any dietary instructions or if you would like to choose the non-cheese option while filling in the check-out form. Drinks will be billed separately.

Tickets are limited, given venue capacity and booking closes a week in advance of the event. Hence, early booking is recommended! Cancellations with a refund are only possibly up to a week in advance. Past this date only possible ticket swaps may be possible.
