November 2022: Day of the Dead

Please join alumni of MIT, Harvard, Altardediademuertos.jpgColumbia, Fulbright, McGill and many others! For our new annual tradition: Instead of Halloween or Thanksgiving we will celebrate the “Day of the Dead”, a Mexican tradition that invites the loved ones who passed away to become part of the festivities. With altars full of colors, candles, food and drinks, we dance the night away. Dress Code: Customes suggested! Just wear what you can find in your closet, something colourful!

Date: Saturday 4 Nov, 5:30 pm-9:30 pm
Place: Terragon
Price: €35 euros including full dinner (for vegetarian option please tell us in advance), 2 drinks, coffee, tea and free parking.
What: 5:30 pm Drinks and tour of the Terragon forrest with the Altars. (There is a bar if you want to start drinks early.)
18:30 Full dinner (for vegetarian option please tell us in advance), drinks, coffee and tea.

Queen Elizabeth II

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. We give thanks for her unparalleled reign of service and dedication and her long and valuable association with the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge. We extend our condolences to all those who, with us, mourn her passing.

September 2022: Blooming heather in Posbank

It has been just over a year since OCNL first established the hiking trip around the Netherlands, and same as last year, we are visiting a national park (Veluwezoom) that is full of blooming heather over the hilly slopes. Please bring your pack lunch with you, and there will be also a restaurant for tea and coffee near Posbank.

When: Sunday, 11th September 2022. 10:30am – 3pm
Where: Rheden train station, 6991 AS Rheden

June 2022: Midsummer BBQ

Dear alumni, We are proud to announce our upcoming event, the summer BBQ.

There will be a selection of meat, fish and vegetarian options (prepared by our very own chefs, Klaasjan & Nick) together with home-made salads and desserts. Please feel free to bring something yourself to add to the buffet.

Date: Saturday, June 25, starting at 12:30 until around 16:30
Place: Leiden, details will be provided upon registration
Price: €15 for all you can eat, children under 12 free

This is a family-friendly event, so please bring friends and children, and outdoor games to play!
